Analogy
Analogy uses something familiar to explain something complex. In another word, analogy is also known as comparing two different elements and yet finding similarities in them. There are two types of analogies :
- logical analogies > e.g. comparison between a whale and a submarine (both can dive great depth of the sea)
- affective analogies > e.g. "she is such an ant" (she is hardworking)
- Simile
Using as/like - e.g. life is like a roller coaster.
- Metaphor
Describing one thing as it were another - e.g. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
