What is ANOLOGY?
Analogy is focused on the similarities of two different things having a resemblance. Analogy is divide into two:
- Logical analogies
- Effective analogies
LOGICAL ANALOGIES
It mainly uses the word ‘therefore’
EXAMPLE: Murder is immoral.
And abortion is immoral.
Therefore, abortion is murder.
EFFECTIVE ANALOGIES
There are two types:
SIMILE – A way of describing something by comparing it with something else using ‘like’ or ‘as’
EXAMPLE: She was as quiet as a mouse
METAPHOR – Describing one thing as if it were another
EXAMPLE: He had butterflies in his stomach
